The Song for the Airshow Contest

The Scottish International Airshow is more than just an air display – it is an event for all of the family with so much happening on the ground, as well as in the sky. Now in its third year, The Scottish International Airshow has seen a small entertainment arena evolve into a live music event, and we have seen the event on Planes TV, and heard it on the Airshow Radio.

With the Airshow becoming even bigger, we’re now expanding our reach for our radio station – and every good radio station needs a theme song, and a jingle. That’s where you come in.

We are looking for musicians to write a Song for the Scottish International Airshow 2016 that will be used in our promotional videos, airplay, and on the website on the lead up to the event, as well as over the weekend on the Airshow Radio station. You would also perform in our pavilions to our premium ticket holders, family ticket holders, and our VIP guests.

You would ALSO win

  • A recording session at Rocket Science Studios in Glasgow with top keyboard player and music producer, Michael Bannister.
  • And £500!

All you need to do is send a demo of you song to us, which will then be judged by a panel of music industry professionals. There are a few conditions to enter:

  • The song must be themed around flight, flying, or aviation.
  • No profanity
  • Performers must be available to perform at The Scottish International Airshow on the 2nd and 3rd September 2016.
  • Airshow (Scotland) Ltd would reserve the right to edit the song for radio jingle versions, and use the song on the Airshow Radio Station powered by West FM for no additional royalties

Please submit all entries via Soundcloud using a private link via email to Cal Reid, Assistant Event Manager (cal.reid@tsia.scot) by 30th June 2016.

The demo doesn’t need to be a polished version – but please make it as clear as possible, and send a brief description of the song and your vision for the final product along with your submission! Good luck!
